JENNIFER L. MUSE

Biography

Jennifer Muse is an experienced attorney in the firm's Employment Law Group. Jennifer has extensive experience representing employers in employment matters, including issues and claims related to Title VII of the Civil Right Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. In addition, Jennifer drafts employment contracts, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and separation and release agreements. She works with clients to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. For clients engaged in government contracting, Jennifer assists them in preparing affirmative action plans. She also has extensive experience representing clients on issues related to non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, the protection of trade secrets, breaches of fiduciary duties, and defamation.

Jennifer also assists clients with the design, drafting, and implementation of employee benefit plans, including tax-qualified plans, cafeteria plans, and health and welfare plans. Jennifer counsels clients concerning plan documents, plan qualification, compliance and fiduciary issues, and provides advice and assistance in correcting plan administration and other errors through voluntary compliance programs. She also provides advice to clients concerning COBRA and HIPAA compliance.
