JENNIFER L. MUSE

Biography

Jennifer Muse is an experienced attorney in the firm's Employment Law and Litigation Groups. As a member of the Employment Law Group, Jennifer has experience representing employers in employment matters, including discrimination claims and issues related to Title VII of the Civil Right Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act. Jennifer has extensive experience representing clients on issues related to non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, the protection of trade secrets, breaches of fiduciary duties, and defamation. In addition, Jennifer drafts employment contracts, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and works with clients to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. For clients engaged in government contracting, Jennifer assists them in preparing affirmative action plans.

Jennifer has substantial experience litigating matters in Virginia state and federal courts. Jennifer's litigation practice focuses on general civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on employment matters, business torts, real estate and contract disputes. Jennifer has prosecuted numerous appeals before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She also has experience representing hospitals in medical malpractice and health care related litigation.
