ROBERT Q. JOHNSON Biography Rob Johnson practices in the Employment Law, Business Law and Litigation practice groups at Jones, Blechman, Woltz & Kelly. Rob’s employment practice focuses on representing employers regarding all aspects of employment law and employee benefits. He regularly advises commercial, governmental, and tax-exempt clients on various employment issues, including compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and related policies. Employee benefits also comprise a large portion of Rob’s employment work, including advising clients regarding qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and nonqualified deferred compensation plans. Rob represents individual, commercial, and governmental clients in the judicial system throughout the region. Rob also advises various business entities through commercial transactions and other business and regulatory matters. In addition, he advises tax-exempt organizations in various aspects of the law unique to tax-exempt organizations. A longtime resident of the Peninsula, Rob graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. In 2009, he earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Rob served as an editor of, and published two articles in, the University of Richmond Law Review.
