Litigation is the largest practice group in the firm. More than half of the firm's attorneys specialize in litigation and dispute resolution. With more than 100 years in trial practice, our litigation attorneys represent individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout Virginia.

In the representation of clients with claims and disputes, the attorney with the most knowledge of the subject matter and familiarity with the tribunal is assigned to the client. With the assistance of other staff attorneys and litigation paralegals, a plan of action is developed with the client's goals and objectives in mind. Litigation can often be expensive and where there exists alternative means to resolve disputes through mediation or settlement conferences, such alternatives are pursued. Insurance coverage for claims and defense are always explored and to the extent coverage issues arise, firm attorneys are experienced in litigating claims with insurance companies. When all else fails, trial and appeals are our specialty.
