New Fair Credit Reporting Act Summary of Rights

September 6th, 2012 by JBWK

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a product of the recent Dodd-Frank financial overhaul, issued a new Summary of Rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, employers who intend to make adverse employment decisions based on credit reports or background investigations from consumer reporting agencies must give employees and applicants notice and a template Summary of Rights from the federal agency.

The new Summary of Rights form is effective January 1, 2013.
